Kinsley Park |
Baseball park in South Providence. Home to the Providence Grays from 1906-1918. The Boston Red Sox sent down Babe Ruth to Providence in 1914, where he played for six weeks, helping them to win the International League championship before returning to Boston for the rest of the season. |
The field located in Providence at the corner of Kinsley and Acorn streets was used primarily by Providence Steam Rollers, Providence Grays and the Providence Gold Bugs. Best known for hosting the first night game in NFL history on November 6, 1929 between the Steam Roller and the Chicago Cardinals. |

J & P Coats Field |
Football stadium and velodrome off of North Main Street, near the Providence-Pawtucket line. Its name derived from its intended use as a bicycle racing stadium (velodrome). Motor-paced and sprint racing attracted the leading cyclist from all over the world in champioship races as well as soccer matches. |
Soccer Field on Lonsdale Avenue in Pawtucket hosted national soccer titles and amateur contests. Home of J & P Coats soccer club. Four times teams from Pawtucket reached the finals including a win in 1941 by the Pawtucket Rangers. The 1916 final hosted by J&P Coats attracted a crowd of 10,000 fans. |

Constructed in 1879, Infantry Hall would serve for the next 63 years as a major Providence venue on South Main Street for roller polo, basketball and boxing matches. The Providence Grays, Pawtucket Tigers, Providence Gold Bugs and Providence Bears in the National and American Roller Polo leagues. |
Baseball park located in the Olneyville section of Providence constructed in 1878. Center field was only 318 feet from home plate, while both power alleys stood 356 feet away. Home to the Providence Grays of the National League from 1878 to 1885 and to the Providence Grays of the Eastern League in 1886. |

Soccer stadium opened in 1922 located in North Tiverton. During the 1920s and early 1930s it was the home of Fall River Marksmen, one of the era’s most successful soccer teams. One of the earliest examples of a soccer-specific stadium in the United States. Fall River F.C. and Ponta Delgada S.C.. would later call home. |
The Adelaide Avenue Grounds first built in 1875 was Rhode Island's first enclosed baseball grounds. The grounds were the home to the semi-pro team the "Rhode Islands" and later Providence Grays (Eastern Association) and Providence Grays/Clamdiggers (Eastern League). Brown University used the park as well. |

Lonsdale Sports Arena |
Indoor arena on 1111 North Main Street. It hosted the AHL's Providence Reds upon it's opening in 1926 and the NBA's Providence Steamrollers and Boston Celtics games. The arena held 5,300 and was a mainstay for high school and amateur hockey, the Ice Capades, public skating, boxing; most notably Rocky Marciano. |
1/3 mile high-banked paved oval race track on Mendon Road in Cumberland on the banks of the Blackstone River. The track operated from 1947 to 1956 featured midget racing and semi-pro and high school football games in the infield. Famous 1947 La Salle Academy and Cranston High game drew 32,000 fans. |

Site of Sunday baseball games (1891-1917) hosted by Providence Minor League teams, Major League exhibition games and one official National League game in 1903 between Boston Nationals and Philadelphia. Most famous game in 1914 Babe Ruth pitched for Providence Grays against the Chicago Cubs. |
Baseball grounds for amateur and professional baseball games starting in the late 1890s including Pawtucket of the New England League and Providence of the Eastern League. In 1901 Hall of Famer Nap Lajoie's All-Star team of American League players played the Providence Grays of the Eastern league. |
